(Complete Recipe) Fish Curry

Recipe for fish curry

Ingredients
500gm Fish steaks ( marinate with turmeric, salt, pepper, fish curry powder and cornflour (I used potato starch)
4 tbsp of Peanut oil or coconut oil
4gm fennel seeds
4gm cumin seeds
2gm fenugreek seeds
3-4 sprigs of curry leaves
2 red chillies (whole)
50gm red onions (thinly sliced)
50gm garlic (finely minced)
2 tomatoes (cut into wedges)
8-10 lady fingers (in whole)
8-10 tofu puffs (soak and squeeze out the water)
Some long beans ( cut into 4cm length
500 ml of water
400 ml Tamarind juice from 80gm of tamarind
75gm of fish curry powder (mixed well with water to form a paste and keep aside )
100-150ml of fresh milk
Salt to taste

Steps
1. Pan fry the marinated fish steaks and keep aside

2. Heat up the oil in the wok. Sauté the fennel seeds, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. Add red chillies, curry leaves and sauté well.

3. Add onions and garlic and sauté for a few minutes.

4. Add in the curry paste prepared earlier and stir the ingredients together until oil separates

5. Add in water and tamarind juice. Add in the veg, tofu puffs and boil for 10 minutes or so

6. Add in the pan fried fish steaks and simmer for a few minutes

7. Add in milk and season to taste. Boil it for a while before off the stove.

8. Let the curry stand in the pot for 1-2 hours for the flavour to develop
