Recipe :
- I used 4 red chillies + 7 dried chillies (you can increase red chillies for a less spicy version)
- 1 onion, sliced
Blend the above till fine
Fry 2-4 tabsp ikan bilis till crispy, blend to powder form
Heat extra oil. Saute another 1 finely diced onion. Add the blended paste, fry till oil separates. Add 3-4 tabsp gula melaka (don't use sugar), add blended ikan bilis, keep frying for about 10-20 mins, add 2-4 Tabsp asam jawa... taste and season... fry till you get a dryish thick paste as my pic.. hope you like it😊
Result: from the above ingredients, I got about 6-7 tabsp of sambal, it is quite packed and intense I used half tsp only for a plate of rice..
