Chicken Potato Stew
2 potatoes cut into quarter
1 tbsp julienne ginger
Half a garlic
1 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp chinese 5 spice powder
1l water
Corn starch water (1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water mix together)
Blanch the chicken with hot water to get rid of the scum, set aside.
Boil 1l of water, add in garlic, ginger, oyster sauce, salt, sugar, Chinese 5 spice powder, and chicken. Set timer to simmer it for 40mins.
Add potato 15mins later and let it simmer away.
Adjust the taste then add corn starch water to slightly thicken up the sauce (optional).
